Princess Noor destroys the Chandelier and the competition in the $200,000 Chandelier stakes at Santa Anita to remain undefeated in three career starts.
The Not This Time filly out of the stakes winning Dam Sheza Smoke Show by the multi millionaire Wilko, broke slowly from the rail, while being boxed in during the first half mile. Veteran jockey Victor Espinoza made his move when he angled out Princess Noor to the three path with 6 furlongs remaining before taking a commanding lead as she galloped home on her own with no urging to win by 8 1/4 convincing lengths.
Victor Espinoza later said that this is the best filly he has ever ridden. The daughter of leading Freshman sire Not This Time has produced 11 winners out of 28 starters from his 90 foals. Trainer Bob Baffert has this talented filly primed and ready for the Juvenile fillies Breeder’s Cup in Keeneland later this Fall.
I’ve been touting this precocious standout ever since the OBS Spring auction when she sizzled a quarter in :20.1and was the sales topper at 1.35M. Listed as my number one overall selection from my OBS Spring Short List, I’m very excited to report that my other top picks are doing extremely well.
I did combine my three short list auction runners into one list with updates and links to follow as they continue to succeed at the racetrack.
