 Fasig-Tipton Day 1 Sales Topper

Last year’s sale topper, the filly Gamine bought by agent Donato Lanni on behalf of Michael Lund Petersen, for a record $1.8 million price tag, was at it again when the duo teamed up to purchase my number one selection  Hip #118 , a stunning dark brown/black colt from Uncle Mo out of the Mineshaft stakes performing filly “Miss Ocean City”, who broke her maiden at first asking with jockey John Velazquez at historic Saratoga. This athletic colt breezed in :10 flat over the Timonium oval on day one of the under tack show, sold for a whopping $1.1 million dollars.

My second choice on my Short list  Hip #151  sold for $325,000 to cool Breeze Racing. This roan colt by Liam’s Map out of One Foxy Grey covered the 1/4 in :20.4 with very little coaxing by the rider.

Day 2 continues tomorrow at 11:00 am with more of my top 10 selected future stars.

Fasig-Tipton Day 3 Breeze Show Recap

Another exciting day at Timonium to close out the under tack show for two year-olds in training at the Midlantic Sales -June 2020, for top juveniles. A few more horses caught my eye today, they are worth  mentioning as we prepare for the June29-30th. sales. Hip #491, a colt by the red hot “Not This Time” drilled an 1/8th in :10.1 on his own with his long fluid stride. The rider hardly moved his hands in an effortless workout, as this speedster just ate up the ground.

Hip #380, a massive dark brown or black colt by Constitution/ Allemande, simply glided over the Maryland surface in an easy :10.2 as he galloped out around the turn. The rider tried to slow this beast  down but this massive colt was too powerful too control.

Day 2 Recap at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Breeze Show

Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Day 2

On a warm summer day at Timonium, Maryland, the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Day 2 under tack show completed it’s second day of breezes, for the two year-olds in training sale. There were several well bred horses that caught my attention with their physicals, conformation, and efficiency of their stride.

Hip #331, a long striding chestnut colt by the hot Freshman sire “Not This Time out of an unraced mare by Friend’s Lake, Truss, was gliding over the Maryland surface to finish in :10.1 over a slow and heavy track. Consigned by Kings Equine Agent, sale dates are scheduled for June 29-30, 2020.

Hip #253, a stunning chestnut colt by American Pharaoh out of a Mineshaft mare named Somalia, this young juvenile finished in :10.2 without coaxing from his exercise rider. Check out the videos under

the  Auctions Video  tab to see these two standouts, along with my top 12 from days 1-2.

Fasig Tipton Midlantic day 1 Stars shine bright as many talented and awe inspiring 2 year-olds put on a show. The most impressive runner of the day was this gorgeous Liam’s Map juvenile out of One Foxy Lady. This strapping roan colt drilled a :20.4 quarter under wraps. Hip #151 is consigned by All Dreams Equine.

Looking forward towards his debut, hopefully at NYRA or the Summer meet at historic Saratoga.

Saratoga sets the stage for the world’s best racing and features top talented juveniles.

Hip #118 by Uncle Mo/ Miss Ocean City, a striking dark bay or brown colt, sizzled in :10 while tripping in mid-stretch. This colt has a long smooth gate, he’s one I’m very interested in watching.

Other notable runners were hip 19, 31, 168, 87, 32, and 29.
